Hi Ralph,

nice looking T34 you got. I got the same kit for my seing red campaign.
But a few things that i noticed were the decal...i can see the carrier film clearly. This can be removed by simply overspray with thinned base color mix with white and buff.
also i notice the grab handle on the turret. the far left is missing and it's the same thing that happen to me...
wonder what did we done wrong..

here is your and mine to compare

shonen_red,
A few observations. I agree about the carrier film on the decals. Although I think the upper and lower hulls look good, they don't seem to go together. Too much dirt on the lower hull for as clean as the upper hull apperas. Also, the track sag looks to be excessive and may need some highlighting on the contact surfaces.
The dents in in fuel cells look good and over all a very nice job.
One question. Why the white star? Never seen this before.
Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Ralph, your painting seems pretty good, but those tracks look so loose on the top they already jumped the cogs.

It seems like you could spread out the tracks, so they don't look all bunched up, so they have a gradual droop to them, all the way across the top, then they will need to look tight on the bottom.

I agree, but those T-34 tracks can be very fiddly to get right. I assembled the right top run on my T-34 last night. Man, that was tricky! I had the rest of the tracks done (tracks on the idler and drive sprocket and a long bottom run) and I looked at the picture in the instructions, 31 links in the top. I assembled the top run and fitted it. It was too long. I then took off two links, now the top run was one link too short! I then put back the two links and managed to get top run to fit right but I had to make quite a sagging in it but it looks good now. I'll show you some pics when I'm done with building mine.
I very nice build, shonen_red.

Thanks all! I built this OOB and I dunno about the white star. I just used the kit decal. About the silvering, I know, but it just popped out when my final weathering was applied

DML didn't quite state how many links are in for each track. So I just put on as many links until I covered the whole track.

Kabayan!

Nice work with the T/34 kit, and to think that it was Dragon, the kit i dreaded most when I first got started into modelling. One thing though try to take a gander at some good pictures first as referrence so you can correct errors, like on the tracks, check out the russian battlefield they have great photos of the '85. All in all great job.
