What colour are Mk19 automatic grenade launchers. I was going to paint it black with pencil lead overall. But I read that they were painted green. Humbrol or Tamiya colour references would be appreciated. The vehicle is a M1025 Humvee OIF.

Definitely not painted green. The ones I trained on were a dark metallic color, pencil lead color would be fairly close.

Thanks Both.
It's what I first thought, but then decided to check.

All the photos I've seen show a parkerised dark grey finish, but the top cover always look much more black, is it made of a different material, or perhaps has a painted black finish rather than the parkerising of the rest of the weapon?

It is possibly because the cover in an alloy that you can't parkerised so they would have painted or powder coated it. It is a lot like the M-60 MG. the top cover and aluminum parts were painted black and the rest was blued.
