Today I checked the list of new releases on Dragon website and there was nothing new and interesting for me there (only new thing is StuG IV in 1/72). But then I looked above the release list and... I saw the banner on top of the page that says "Item no. 6287 1/35 88mm Flak 37".
Not that it is a big surprise - many sprues in Flak 36 kit are marked as "Flak 36/37", but I thik it was never announced before!
There is no more info on the DML website yet - just the animated banner with drawing of a gun in firing position: http://www.dragonmodelsltd.com/catalog/dml/

Pawel,
after building the 36 (just about to begin painting) I can't wait for the 37! The 36 was another bar-raiser in terms of model manufacture. How can they keep on doing this? Don't they realise we need to keep some money for food etc.?
:)

My plastic is crying out for a rest, but DML keeps uping the ante. My question is, what do I do with the older kits that I have that now have been replaced by the new and better versions? My stash just seems to get larger and larger with no end in sight.(and is keeping me poor)

Just built them. The fact there is a better kit available doesn't mean you can't make anything nice of your old kit!

I just finished building this kit, and it went together like a dream. Alot of parts but it was easy. Iam weathering it now.

I agree with Martin: build them! Anyway, you can get the old version better with the extra parts of the new one! So, why not build both at the same time?
Cheers and happy modelling!

What would be the difference between the 36 and the 37 ??? What I would like to see is the 44? which was used to defend the major cities with.

The difference is that the 36 had "ground based" sighting arrangements for A/T work, while the 37 had the "follow the pointer" sights for A/A work, run over cables from a predictor, so they were more specialised. The 37 wasn't usually fitted with a shield, if photographic evidence is anything to go by. By the 44, I presume you mean the low-profile model for A/T work only? This was in 2 guises, the "Scheuntor" (sp!) as modelled by AFV Club was a quick way of getting the gun into service on an F18 carriage, while there was a purpose built cruciform version used in Normandy. I think this is right (from memory), but I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong!

be sure to post some pics when you have it ready Recon. I'm trying to fight the temptation to buy the DML one since i have the old Tamiya one to build still.

Just picked up My DML FlaK 36 at my LHS for $26.56.
Gad! What a stuffed box of goodies!
I don't know how our hobby can get much better. Pz1V B, C, D, E, AB41, FlaK 18.
Now, if they would just produce new tooled US halftracks, everybody might be happy for about 15 minutes.
