Mike, I edited your title to be a little more specific. That way someone with the knowledge might see it and be able to answer your question correctly. I can only guess.

Go to the Great Models site at http://www.greatmodels.com/. Then click on the "Cross Reference" option on the left hand side of the screen. It will bring up a search form that you can use to look for items specific to the StuG III.

I can't say for sure which types of tracks are proper for a particular StuG. This is one of the better sites for looking up Fruil Model tracks: http://www.discountmodels.com/mfgs_armor_accessories.htm.

The StuG III uses the same tracks generally as the Panzer III, but the German experts would be able to tell you which tracks would be proper for the F8.

Hi Mike,
I am fairly certain the Stug III f/8 was produced on the pzIII f chasis, so the track would be the 36cm pzIII tracks.
regards,
Robert

The F8 used the 40cm track used on all stugs from mid B thru G.

Hi John,
Achtung Panzer no.2 states that the pzIII f used 36cm tracks, and as far as I know the Stug IIIf/8 was built on th pzIII f chasis, any idea why they changed the track? Better cross country performance maybe? As far as I knew the only changes made were the removal of the side escape hatches and the additional armor on the front.
Best regards,
Robert

The Stug III Ausf. F/8 was built on the PzKpfw III Ausf. J. This is from "Sturmgeschutz III and IV 1942-45" by Jentz and Doyle.

As for the tracks, any of the 40cm tracks will do, especially those with the hollow guide horns.

If you are looking for the vinyl I can send you the ones from Tamiya's pzIII L, that would make up for my blundering knowledge lapse.

Robert
