I have heard that this stuff is great to make walls, etc. And my work with Plaster of Paris has only resulted in lots of rubble, and frustration.
Any help would be great!

I picked up a 25 pound bag of white Hydrocal for 25 bucks at a local cement/plaster supplier. They sold plaster etc as well just check in your yellow pages under plaster supplies.
Cheers,

If you dont have any luck with that plaster, try using drwall, just soak in some water thats pretty warm, not that hot, just scrape the cardboard backing off, and the stuff works great

Have you tried casting plaster? Unlike plaster of paris it is more dense and does not break easily. It takes about 30 minutes to cure and once it's hard you can scribe it with ease. You can pick the stuff up at A.C. Moore or Michaels.

I sell smaller bags (5 lbs) of Dental Plaster for $14.95 plus shipping. The difference in strength is amazing:

Dental Plaster - 18,000 PSI
HydroCal - 8,000 PSI
Plast of Paris - 5,000 PSI

Dental Plaster ("DP") also has a finer grain, and does a great job at picking up minute detail.
