As you may have noted I changed the display for both the greeting message, the private mail indicator, and the language selection. They are all now directly above the main menu. If you have any UNREAD private mail (messages from other site users) then a mail icon (an envelope) will be displayed to the right of your callsign. The nice thing about this (for me at least) is that it now only shows when you have "new" mail, and not when you have old read mail in your message box. I will add a link in the "My Account" area that will allow you to look over your old private mails.

I will also be working on trying to get the display of enlisted members by call-sign (currently online) on the homepage.

Jim, good work... I like the changes you made; both with the new private messages and the on-line users on the homepage.

One more thing. Would it be possible to announce new pics (models and reference) that were submitted to Armorama on the homepage? That way one could see that there is something new in the gallery without having to browse the website...

Jim, it's great! Once again another reason why I can't get any models completed...lol

The "whose currently" online here is pretty darn cool.

A new pic (icon of camera) in same area as PM's would be another cool and useful feature.

Great job, Jim ! The Front Gate name display is excellent. It's good to place that at the bottom : as the list of members grows, the front gate display can scroll down for miles !

Thanks for those changes !

... and / or a specific forum where each new posting (pics or articles) are mentioned by adding a topic ?
- that brings the item at the top of the topics list
- and it allows us to discuss/comment the pics or article...

Exactly... this could be a really nice thing.

Now I have to post some private messages to myself to see how those extra features work...

Mario,
I would do the new photos feature in a hot second.... If I knew how.

Unfortunately the module was written somewhat "outside" the norm of MySQL (the database that this site uses). It uses it's own proprietary .DAT files and they are like light-years ahead of where I am at programming wise.

Short answer: I will be looking to add that feature ASAP.

Jan,
The photo gallery does allow user comments below each individual photo. Also just an FYI but you can add photos to this forum by using the IMG BB code:

Haven't seen many people trying that yet. More info in the PostBoard FAQ below.

Right on the spot... every day something new, and the great thing is that we can also contribute with our own suggestions... I love this site. Jim, you are doing a great job. Keep it up...

Geez JIm,
I don't check the site for a day and look at all the changes. Much more readable though. Looks good!
