I showed some in-proggres pics here some time ago. I finished the tank and almost forgot to post photos here! I'll correct that right now.
It's the extratech kit. I tried making weld seams to the hull armor plates and the turret. How does it look? I also textured the turret with liquid cement and then dabbing with an old brush. The spotlight on the turret was drilled open and a lens was made by applying several thick coats of clear gloss. The mounting was made from wire and glued to a hole drilled to the side of the spotlight I managed to get the wire the wrong way, the light should be on the right of the mounting wire. The .50cal recieved a scratch-built ammo box. It's not very visible in the pics above so here's a pic of it unpainted.
I also made a new barrel changing handle from wire (the kit-supplied pe handles looked impossible to glue on), but it was a too thick and I noticed that only after I had glued the handle on.
That's another shot of the hull in-proggres, showing the weld seams made from stretched sprue.
Thanks for looking. Comments and critique are of course welcome.

When I saw that this was the Extratech kit I didn't beleive it, and had to go back to the top and check that this was the Braille Scale forum! Could have sworn this was 1/35!
Great model Eetu!

You certainly upped the bar for those of us who have not yet built our ExtraTech Jumbos! Looks very good.
I was wondering about how to tackle the lack of extended end connectors. Most Jumbos had them permantently affixed to the track and I didn't know of any 1/72 scale EECs that were available.

For those who haven't built their Jumbos (or other extratech shermans), I have a few tips. The idler mount is very weak, insert wire to make it stronger. take care while attaching the tools. I started glueing on the tools according to the instructions. They didn't fit exactly like the instrtuctions showed them. Dryfit before glueing them on.
And finally, it's vey easy to get the suspension misaligned. I would recommend building the bogies first, but leaving the suspension arms loose so they move back and forth. After glueing the suspension units to the hull, it's easy fix the suspension arms in place with liquid cement. This way you can put the model on a flat surface so all the wheels touch the ground. I didn't do that, and had to file some of the wheels to get them all touch the ground. Also make sure that the drive sprocket is aligned with the wheels so the tracks will fit. attaching the drive sprockets with wire maybe a good choice, as you can then adjust them as you wish if you drill the hole through the hull side. (btw, the tracks are really great, they fit almost flawlessly and are easy to fit)
About EEC's. Ontheway.us has a review of a jumbo sherman resin kit (released before extratech kits were available). That kit had tracks with EEC's fitted. I don't know if they're available separately. I don't remember the company, and I can't check it, as ontheway.us is off-line for some time as it's being moved (or so I've heard).
And, Thanks for the comments.

I believe On The Way is being moved since Doug's retirement and Simon picking up ownership Simon cannot own a ".us" (www.ontheway.us) domain since he is not American.

Funny, I didn't know those addresses are so country-specific. Or does the Simon live in USA? That would be understandable if he didn't.
