Hi all, heres another old model I've been working on (30yrs). With alot of research I hope I've got the correct colours for the caunter camo scheme. I added some homemade upgrades as well as removed a few things from the original model.

You have done an excellent job with that old kit Bruce, I love the texture and weathering of the paint. Just enough 'paint chipping' without going over the top, well done. I'm no expert on the Caunter scheme, but it looks good to me. A nice kit to add to the collection.
Cheers

Another example of just how good the older Tamiya kits can be made to look! Nice paint job, and the extra parts you added just lift it that bit above the standard kit. Overall a darned good job!

Hi Bruce,
The paint job, and it's weathering is superb!! I love the rust and the cipping!!
I never made a British vehicle myself, but when I see an example like this, I want to build my Crusader Mk. II which is in stash for more than two years now....
Keep the good work going! John.

Great job. I'm no expert in that kind of scheme, nor Mathildas. Its not everyday you see that kit - and not so well made either. Keep it up.

Well done Bruce!
I likes a nice Matilda. What colors did you use for the camo and what brand. I really like the subtle paint chipping/wear. You have inspired me to do one now!

What Frank said. Really nice finished article. Another one to add to the wishlist for my ever growing stash (the Master Box Panzer I ammo carrier just arrived today...)

Awesome finish for such an old model! Congratulations! Everything seems to be in place: The building, the painting, the weathering....! Beautiful!
Cheers and happy modelling!

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Good eye Henk, I found some great stuff to replicate different textures as found on hulls, mufflers etc, it's meant to be a filler and it does a pretty good job on small fill jobs, but it works great on texturing. It's called "Utility Paste" , its water based so it can be watered down for different textures,, easy cleanup no fumes. I got it on eBay fairly cheap.
British Colours
The Bellman
But the info is based on Humbro Colours, and I had to convert to Tamiya ( not always easy )
Anyway I'm happy with the results
I guess I should have reworded that.

While I find the Matilda to be a boring tank I can recognized talented builds. The is a good looking build there

Very nice Bruce. Just enough of everything, texture, weathering, extra items, etc. It does go to show, as others have said, that those older Tamiya kits, while not 100% accurate, can be made into very nice looking models.
