Hi here,
here is the Marder II I entered into the AGE2 campaign.
I built it OOB and gave it a whitewash finish.
Since the end of the campaign, I've added some stowage.
Looking forward to getting suggestions on how to improve.
Jurgen.

excellent work. i like the winterwash on the tank, the rust specks on the rear hull and the mud/snow on the tracks. just a few small comments:
-i think the fuel drum and crates need to be tied down, try using string or fine wire.
-try a simple dio base to show some snow/mud on the ground. it will add more realistic context to your model.
cheers

I agree that those crates and barrel need to tied with something. They look like they're gonna fall down when the vehicle moves. I would also suggest using a different wood color, as normally wood isn't so brownish. Try to darken it a little bit more using washes, or simple repaint them. I know it might be hard because the whole thing is already painted, but you can always try using some masking tape to secure everything else that is supposed to be left as it is. Hope this helps,
cheers,

IMHO, there is no need to improve on the overall Marder, it already looks realistic and very well donr...the only thing I would change would be the black color of the muzzle break -- Stating late 19th century gunpowder is not anymore used as to propel/ fire ammunitions, I think they call it smokelss propellant or cordite, ballistite...
I also agree that those stowages should be tied down.
cheers

The finish of your Marder is excellent, the stowage needing to be tied down has already been mentioned, the only thing I noticed is the Balkenkruez on the right hull, it looks a bit odd, as if not in register?
I love your dirty, worn winter camo. Well done.
Cheers

Other than the things others have mentioned I would shine up the recoil rails behind the gun breech. IIRC, they would be pretty shiny (bright metal) if the gun had been fire recently. Overall great job.

one thing you might consider is drilling out the solid exhaust pipe and painting the inside of it black and then adding a little black pastel around the mouth of the ehaust pipe..

Looks excellent for an OOB build. I'd echo the above suggestions, and add just one. You might consider painting the rubber on the spare roadwheel stowed on the front armour (although I appreciate that the whole wheel and tyre might well have received a coat of whitewash, so you could of course just leave it as is!)

Thanks guys!
I will definitely be trying what you suggested, especially tying down the stowage (Ooops).
I was originally planning on putting this in a small
dio, but because I did this kit as an AGE2 entry, I couldn't display it that way. I still do have that base
I originally created lying around so I might go back
to that idea.
Glenb - the dull metallic look was achieved by a couple
carefully placed washes of grey. Some lighter and some slightly darker with a thin brush. I found that over the white, the effect is quite reasonable.
thanks again,
Jurgen.

Very nice. I built something similar for the Tank Terror campaign. The same scheme too. That time I was wondering if I should extend the white wash to the hull sides. Otherwise I'd suggest that you dirty-up the hull as you did with the tracks.
Make a hole in the exhaust pipe and simulate some soot too.
Great work buddy.
