There have been pics of my M3 Lee build in here before, but now it's finished and set in its vignette.
Hope you all like it.

That a good looking M3 Pilgrim. Beautiful paintjob and weathering. The tracks look a bit clean though.

Pilgrim,
Very nice, very nice indeed!
Certainly an improvement from the first posting of just the tank.
The dio is a great compliment to your kit. Give yourself a couple of pats on the back. You deserve it.

Pilgrim, nice Job on the Lee. I do agree it needs more dust on the tracks and the top of the boogies to be consistant with the rest of the tank. I am impressed with the rust effect on the pak, very nice. I am assuming that the pak was engulfed in flames and burned the painted off, thereby allowing rust to get to this point. If this is true you may want to burn up the tires somehow, maybe removing the rubber and leaving only rim?
Anyway it's a nice dio and it does set off the M3
Regards
Bruce

Hi! I like the Lee. It not often that tank is presented in a dio. Its always Shermans, Shermans, Shermans...
Actually it reminds of some of Steven J. Zalogas dios: The composition and photo are similar.
Last: The gun next to the Lee - isn't it a bit to rusty for the desert? I mean, rust appear due to rain, moist and bad weather? Is it me, or what? Whatever, you made a great job. I like it.

Simon re the rust on the Pak, if metal is burnt it turns rusty very quickly usually just the air moisture can do it, and if this is the western desert it did rain there and it got very cold, if you look at photo's from that campaign the troops are often wearing great coats

That was my first impression also.
Lovely scene and well laid out.
As already mentioned, the biggest thorn in the scene, is the tyres on the Pak The rust effect is brillant, both texture and colours. Its hard to imagine perfect tyres in the same image. If it did burn out, the material on the closer sandbags would be affected also. Some empty ammo cases and personal gear would have added a nice touch as well.
The figure´s face looks a little like a manaquin. A burnt sienna wash to shadow and some colour/highlights would give depth.
Small nits, but hopefully they might be helpful. There are so many well done items, thesefew stand out.

Thanks everyone for the positive remarks and constructive criticism.
I've dirtied the tracks further.
I know the figure could look better than it does in the pics. My figure painting is something I really need to work on. The flesh tones were painted in oils and in the flesh (pardon the pun :-)) the skin tones look less flat. I thought about washing it, but wasn't sure which to use - I'll try burnt sienna next time - thanks Frank.
With regard to the gun, I had in mind something that had been knocked out quite some time ago, and which is rusting after some months of exposure to great cold & heat and some sandstorms and the desert dew. I deliberated long and hard over the tyres and whether to surround it with debris and personal items. I didn't originally build it to be "knocked" out and so missed the opportunity to build it without tyres. I decided that after a length of time personal items and empty shell cases would have been collected by souvenir hunters. The more I think about this, the more I think I made the wrong decision - but this is only my second dio (the first was the very basic one that went with my Churchill VII model), so those are lessons I have learnt for next time.
Once again, thanks everyone!

Awesome M3 Lee! Very well built and painted, wonderfully weathered (apart from what has already been mentioned) and very well set in a smart dio! Congratulations!
