Hi all
I'm proud to present my first vignette, called " Welcome to the Jungle"
Featuring two 1/35 dragon SBS figures. The cano included in the kit got stuck in a terrible EZ water incident, so I decided to cut down on the diorama, and just use the figs.
All flower and plants are stuff I found in the garden, or in my mother in law's flowerpieces... (sssht)
Figs painted with enamels, weathered with oils.
Figs look a bit pale compared to the green on the pics, but in real life they have more colour.
Let me know if you like it.

That's an excellent piece of work I think. The vegetation looks really good - have you preserved it, and if so - how?

This looks very good, but I don't know about using real plants though. I hope that in a year it doesn't look like an area that had some Agent Orange too much.
Did you treat the plants to avoid them to go brown ?
Don't get me wrong here... I think that the diorama looks really good, but I'm just afraid it won't stay that way because of the live plants.

I love the way you have intimidated the figures with the jungle - very nice and just at the right time as I am doing a single 120mm fig at the moment in the jungle
Thankyou

Yes, definitely share with us how you preserved the vegetation as I'm currently experimenting with a couple of ways to try to preserve some now. I'm testing a couple pieces treated with Future, wanna see if that stuff might work. Also trying acrylic sealer as well on a couple of other pieces, of course only time will tell if these work but if anyone else has any tips please share!
Awesome vignette by the way, looks VERY real and draws the viewer right in. I can feel the tension of the troops stalking their prey.

Congrats! As a first vignette that can count
I'm also not too keen on working with real plants. But if you have found something to preserve so, you're the man
Good work!

Warvos very, very nice vignette. Posing them around the trunk with the epiphytes really sets the mood.

Thanks for the replys guys
I've been waiting a few days before responding, because I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be giving advise and later finding out my forest looks more like a desert..
Actually, none of these plants were preserved.
Some I found in flower arrangements, which were already predried, but the most, like the moss and the greenleaves came from the garden. I just cut everything, and it has been drying very slowly for a few months now (waiting to be put on the big rainforest dio I was planning, but which failed miserably with the EZ water application...
I only sprayed everything with a soft artist fixative spray, which ensured me that the leaves would stay on the branches. (that's why I waited a bit to respond, I wasn't sure the fixative wouldn't react with the leaves.
In all, it's been about 3 months since they were cut, and they still look very greenish.. so, after reading your guesses about preservation techniques, I guess I just got lucky with the choice of plants for this little dio.
