I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing and seeing pictures of "L.R.F.K.A.PP", my Land Rover Formerly Known As "Pink Panther". Or even my hottie redhead "Myrtha Kairo". But here we go again! I've started laying out the diorama they will share. The Ladies of Armorama WILL appreciate my dio because it shows a stong woman, guns, truck and all, getting out of the vehicle and CHECKING A MAP! What else would I do with a female figure? Beauty AND Brains is this modeler's little red head!
Nothing is glued down yet and the extras in the bed of the truck are not permanant, nor is the wiring run. I just wanted to throw out my placements for comment and suggestions.
Now, here ya go
Cup o' coffee (forgot the thermos, D'oh) Shotgun on the hood. Nice, huh?
I like how her (The truck's) rear end bumper came out. The vise is an extra from my M26 model.
The figure is a representation of my SWMBO's Rifts Character, Myrtha Kairo, a "Psytech" or, in plain english, a psychic mechanic. She uses her mental abilities to "talk" to machines and improve their efficiency. With that in mind, I had to make the truck a mobile shop. The stuff that will permanently go into the bed will reflect that.
Now, what would all of you suggest for components of a mechanic. I'm making a highlift jack for the back bumper and I have an acetylene tank or two to throw in also. Plus, assorted hand tools and such will make up the contents of a portable tool box. But what else?
Gimme a shout!

If she's a psychic mechanic, how about a giant size bottle of aspirin?
From experience, working on 1/1 scale stuff always gives me a headache ... :-) :-)

Lubricants! and maybe some food/drink. If she stays with the truck, what about a sleeping bag, cot and tent/shelter.

Murph coming on really well - add a huge knockometer (a big hammer or Spanner for a laugh if it don't work use a bigger hammer) don't forget a couple of old metal ammo boxes to carry stuff and makeup kit some packs for her gear, a box of shotgun shells, sunglases or goggles- an esky or little portable fridge. A soldier of fortune mag a Laptop, cb radio and Aerial, a porta toilet, cooking gear, gas bottle and stove, jaffle iron
these are just some ideas - hope that will help you get some juices flowing and you put in just the right things for her Truck

uh...er...thanks Ian...
...a jaffle iron? :-)
That's some good stuff guys, I'm gonna make some shotgun shells. You can't see it at any of the angles I shot, but in the center console/drink holder, there is a CB radio. I have yet to make the mike.
The Knock-o-meter is on the back bumper along with a pickaxe.
A fridge is a good idea, I have quite a lot of room where I left out the passenger seat and a cooler of some sort will go there along with the gunrack holding an M-16/M-203 and a Hand and a half broadsword in its scabbard.
You've helped a lot. I'd like to hear from some of the ladies of Big-A to see if this smacks of male chauvinism at all. My SWMBO thinks it's great, but, it's her charachter and I believe she is a little biased.
So, Ladies?

Maybe she can use her powers to tell the front end of that Rover to get down a bit. Maybe my imagination, but it looks a bit high. Otherwise, I like!

Ooooookkee dokie. We wanted more mechanics stuff, we've gotten more mechanics stuff! I have added a water jug (blue), a tool box and some hand tools, and an acetyline tank setup with a scratchbuilt rack, and a couple of jackstands. I am scratching out a 10 ton floor jack and will finish it tomorrow.
And a closer look.
I'm thinking of entering this as my T2K05 subject as long as I can figure in the "Last stand" aspect of the build.
Next will be the motorcycle rack hanging off the right hand side. Heh heh!

Great work! And an unusual idea too. Don't forget the hair dryer and curling tongs though...

Hi Ya Boys!!!!
This is Gigi, SWMBO of the McCraken Home and I just want to pipe up with strong women are good women and you are all just Jealous that Cuhail has a strong independent woman to realisticly base his models off of, I do not have a curling iron but I do have a tool box similar to "Myrtha". So, joke as you will, we do exist.
and should be portrayed as we are not as you think we should be.
Still love you all! Silly Boys
Cuhail's BETTER half, Gigi :-)8

Murphy..i have to say i really like it. The idea is diffrent and great. There are a lot of strong women out there and i am glad to see that you realize that..Its nice to see a female taking on a role that you would expect a guy to be in..Two Thumbs Up.. I cant wait to see more of this one..Keep us posted..

Thanks Mary, obviously by her post above, my SWMBO agrees with you. There aren't enough female 1/35th figures on the market to pull this off all that often, and I had to make a slightly off center trade to do it, but, so far it has been totally worth it!
Havin fun,
