What purpose do the wire reels that seemingly every British AFV has somewhere on them. Are they a means for infantry to communicate with the crew? If so what do they plug into the end?
TIA
Tom

The wire reels that are on the vehciles are used to carry DON 10 wire that can be used to run line out to an OP,ground/air sentries or connect to other vehciles for a communal chat net.
