Hi!, I'd like to know what is the normal operative pressure in two cases , for painting with my Aztek 4709 airbrush.
1- For big zones or general zones. ¿20 psi?
2- For detailed zones or lines ¿15 psi?
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much Jesper, but what is your experience about thsi pressure when you make a model.
For example I can painted near to the model, I need to decrease the pressure, but I don`t know aproximatly what this the pressure ...
or I need to painted a general zone, I need to increase the distance and the pressure but the qustion is the same..
I'd like to know yours experience about this.
Thanks

It's very difficult to give a decent answer to this question. It depends on all the variables you have when airbrushing: - the type of paint - how much thinner you used - the nozzle - the postion of the needle of your airbrush - only to name a few.
But it also depends on the pressure loss in the tube from compressor to airbrush counts.
Just watch the manometer go down at the moment that you push the airbrush button and start spraying. You will notice a pressure loss as soon as you start spraying.
Actually, depending on your equipment you have a considerable (?) pressure loss due to the resistance against the air movement. There is little you can do about this except do a lot of testing.

Thanks Kaporaal, Then a I need to prove all the variables. OK , My airbrush is Aztek 4709 and revell compressor "gamma", but I don't know what is the tare presuure to start...I trying to put anyone. I will mixed the tamiya paint 50% with the thinner and later I see the results. Thanks
