1993 - An element of a Civil Affairs direct support team, attached to the 7th ID, has passed the infantry cordon, and moves towards the town of Carnis to make intial contact with the civilian populace.
The figures are from the old Tamiya modern infantry set. I kitbashed the figures and also added some filler to make the BDU's baggier,, especially the legs. I used two different sets of camo color for the BDU's and the vest, but its not real noticeable.
Added to the top of the boots on the running figure to represent Hi Tecs, and added paper and filler to make the gloves on both figs. Ragtops are thin cut strips of foil superglued to the kevlars, and rifle straps are paper strips.
The base is planters foam with dirt and ground foam with a bit of static grass. The old tree is a tree root and the ferns are a dried ornamental plant. I've posted some pictures here and theres a couple more in the gallery.
Thanks for looking. Chris

Great work on sprucing up Tamiya figures. I especially like the camo and the strips on their helmets. I see you've put the ferns you mentioned in an earlier post some time back to very good use.
The whole vignette has a nice action feel to it.

Great looking entry, really turned out well. I really like how you got the figure to pose, the best one is the guy in the back. I also hafta agree with the others, the tree is super, it fits in perfect and blends in nicely with the base. Great job Kancali
