Hi all..
One of my prob area's (I think so anyways) is getting a good effect on AFV exhaust's... i've tried many techniques and so far my results have been mixed...
anyways as the post says.. tell me what yall think about this result constructive critizisum welcome... personally I think it looks good but not sure if its right for the vehicle..
these are the exhaust off of a M-10 GMC.. and I'm sure its very close or the same to many sherman variants.. and I know most will be hidden by the deflector.....
This look was achieved by a basecoat of Model Master Rust enamal.. then Ibrushed on in horazontal brush strokes Model Master Burnt Iron buffing metalizer(label says airbrush only because its so thin) didn't try for 100% coverage just mostly.. then I buffed it to blend it in with the basecoat. then rust pastels from the outside towards the pipes.. then black pastels on the pipe side..
thanks.

I like the metallic tone overall, and the texture looks very good. I have seen suggested the use of several pink and orange washes to replicate the discoloration caused by heating, etc.

Looks pretty good to me. The colors IMHO re-create a fairly realistic appearence.
