Hi all,
Who can tell me what colour to use for the interior of a M1025 Humvee?
If possible, in tamiya acrylics!

I would assume Olive Drab at least the ones I saw seemed to be standard OD. I would guess the ones sent to Iraq could be either that or some sand color depending on whether the interior gets repainted (or the exterior for that matter I have seen lots of nato camo ones in video and pics over there).

Hey
It's for a humvee in Somalia, 1993
So, guess olive drab is ok?
Have to watch Black Hawk Down again hehe :-)

Blackhawk Down was on TV here in the US about 4 times this past weekend. I'ld go with the OD interior. Just do an OOB version, no gunshields or ramma-jamma front bumpers. That is probably one of the greatest movies that really capture what the military spirit is about.

The Green used inside the Hummers is the same NATO green used in the Camo scheme. The seats cushions will be olive drab or black depending on the type of seats used by the unit and the modifications.
The Desert scheme painted on some Hummers, if not all, is painted inside and out, so depending on the situation at the time, the paint job is going to be neat or sloppy, and some of the hummer's that I have been in looked liked someone used a spray can with a clogged tip, I hope this helps... Happy Modeling

I second GhostDog! Use Tamiya NATO Green for the interior. I want to say it is XF-67, but I might be wrong.

I use Tamiya's Forest Green. As mentioned It is the same green as in the 3-tone for Woodland vehicles. Don't use OD.

This subject (has been beat to death in the past) Color will vary based on alot of variables....
-Original production date
-Has it been refurbished (at a depot) Vs "Field" repainting
-Availability of replacement parts
New HMMWV's are coming out in Factory Sand
some of the transiton ones from Green to sand Had "mixed color" parts on them (depending on what was in stock at the time.
Just my .02c (not meant to offend anyone)

Yeah well I know nothing about modern so....asking is the easiest way to find out
How about the brown in the 3-tone colour scheme? Which Tamiya colour should I use for that.
Humvee is almost built now....

Hey Martin,
Here's what to use, interior color NATO green.
For the 3 color paint use, NATO green, NATO brown NATO black. You can't go wrong. Your Hummer looks great so far, can't wait to see it finished
BTW: all paint can be found from Tamiya. NATO brown is XF-68 and NATO black is XF-69. I don't know the number for the NATO green, sorry...

Mother hit it on the nose. Tamiya color numbers are XF-67, XF-68, XF-69 or 66, 67, and 69. But like he said, NATO Green, Brown, and Black.
Here is a little tid bit I got from Vodnik(Pawel): after you spray the base colors (green, brown, and black), add alittle Tamiya Buff to the color and lightly sray back over the base color. It will make it look nice and faded.
Here was the HUmmer I did a while back when Black Hawk Down came out in the theaters:
Now come on Matt, you know it is easier to just ask the question again then try and search all the old threads for the answer. Besides, everytime a question is re asked, you always get additional answers that was not in the original thread.
