Hi guys!
Finally I have managed to get some photos of my recently finished truck.
Just yesterday I was dusting it with pastel chalks, but after I took pics of it I start to thik that it wasn't that nice and already toned the dirt down.
So here are the pics, hope you like 'em but any comments are wellcome
:
ps.1
This truck has gone some long way from the box to the state it is in now.
It wouldn't be possible (or at least not quite as nice as it is now) without The Big A and your help guys! Thank you!
ps.2.
My appologies for the big delay but I had to finish off my semester at the Academy and that meant putting up modeling for some time...
Cheers,
Pedro
... errr, hope the pics WILL show up this time...

One pic shows I think it looks great How is that Revell kit? Does it need a lot of corrections?

Here is a photo of the real truck. You did a great job in correcting this old kit. I really love the worn tattered roof on the cab.
Bravo and three cheers

You have done a great job on the kit considering how it is out of the box. I recently built the kit and done some scratch building. Curious of what changes you have made. Also the paint and weathering look really nice.

It's the 40 year old Monogram kit. Decent shape and has plenty of potential.Pedro

Thanks guys!
This truck is a nice kit, but it's only my personal opinion. See the kit is 48 years old, and it shows.
It builds easily, there are almost any fit problems and the structure of the cab, bed and frame is very sturdy.
But then again there are details... or lack of them :-)
I had to scratchbuild roofs frame, canvas then is from tissue paper (this doesent matter only if you want to make it a hard top which is in thr box), also scratched details are:
- 4 T-clamps on hood,
- door handles and towing rings made of brass wire,
- door and hood side panels hinges made of piece of sprue (not working but looking something like the original, the kit ones were just the opposite),
- home casted turn signal lights plus guards for them made of brass sheet,
- 3 handles on the cab made of wire and two more on the tailgate made of brass sheet,
- wire rear view mirrors support
- headlights made of hot pressed clear sheet(tle kit ones were casted in green plastic, (sth like in old tamiya mutt),
- corrected shape of the gas tank and added plastic filler cap,
- wipers cutted of sheet brass.
This is a listing of corrections I can remember right now. These are not too harsh to perform, It just depends if you want to practice some scratchbuilding
I say this again: for me it was great plesure to build this kit, and I think that its only the matter of attitude.
Animal, you have contributrd to this build, and I thank you for that! Also a big thanks for compliments and for bringing the pics on-line
pfc thanks, glad you like it
Cheers

ps. It's only the matter of attitude that someone may dislike the kit and how it was moulded 40+ years ago.
This is what was on my mind

I think you did a fantastic job I didn't know the kit is that old I like how you did the wash on the hood to make it look like paint chipping

Pedro,
Excellent job!! Really convincing finish.
One point for me, would those "fender guides" be that white, considering the amount of dust, wear and tear on the rest of the vehicle?
Anyway, a first class job. Take a bow.

Hey!
Thanks for comments guys!
Chad, chipped paint was done by wash but simply painted with 00 brush
Joe, I think youre right with the "fender guides" ,I kinda overlooked them when I was weathering the truck, some dust should do the trick
Cheers
