Hi everyone, this diorama took me for ever to complete. The base and the trees are scratch built. Each tree took me about 5 hours. One sherman is a tamiya M4A3 105mm and the other is the italeri M1A1. The figures are dragon and warriors. Both tanks are sporting aber metal barrels, and eduard photo-etch.

Looks great. Snow is always tough to do. With so many resin figures that is a small fortune!!

Excellent dio dude. Your long hours paid off.
Just one thing. The tank's tracks would probably dig into that snow.

rhenders -
Welcome to Armorama. Excellent job and very well portrayed winter scene. Figures and Shermans are nicely detailed and presented. Those trees are truly outstanding. Please share your "scratch build" technigues. Don't remember any of those kind of trees in Nort Dakota though when I was stationed in Minot. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

very nice all together I must say. You captured the cold look very very well. The trees and snow all look very realistic. IF I had to make one comment it would be that the road should be a bit more muddy even if the snow is fresh especially behind the tanks as they move over the road they will churn up the snow and dirt below behind them. Here is a pic taken during the BoB for ya to see. Keep up the great work. Keep the pics coming.

This is a really nice piece of work. Other than the things mentioned above I dont see a thing I would change. Those trees do look really nice.

That is a great looking dio Robert, it catches the 'Ardennes Feeling' extremely well. I agree but have to say it aswel, your trees are superb. I don't realy want to add any 'but's', but there is just one thing I would like to comment on, and that's the white wash on the tanks. It's very nice, but to me looks just that little bit to...brushed from side to side. Did you use the paint undilluted? I do white wash with very dilluted white paint, and use downward strokes to simulate the 'real' white wash.
And Ex-Royal points out correctly that the tracks would leave the path churned and muddy, and the tracks should be sunk into the ground a bit.
But these are only pointers, you have done a sterling job. And again those trees, I'm rather jealous of those...
Cheers
Henk

Awesome dio! I think everything is very well done: good balance of positionnong of figures/ tanks in the terrain, groundwork/trees very well built, snow very well represented and disributed, figures and tanks very well painted. A single remark about the figures: they are too clean! The men that walk in the snow show marks of it on the lower parts of the uniforms and on the boots! You could get a touch there! If it wasn't for this it's a perfect dio! Congratulations!
Cheers and happy modelling!

nice dio overall.
I must agree on the previous comments.
There would be some mud behind those havy tanks.
( not if it was minus 15 and the road would be frozen)
If it's afrech layer of snow, be sure of the mud.
another comments i'd like to make is the "uniform snow".What i mean is; try to "break" this overal white with some branches, maybe some equipment.(little details make dio's nice to see) Under the trees wouldn't be as many snow too.

Nice and well done dio. Aside from what others said already, I also noticed that the track (second pic) seems to be floating or not touching the ground...
Nice looking trees...BTW...

Robert, nice looking dio, but as mentioned, the snow seems to cover everything, and yet not the things it should, such as a little brushed up the trousers of the soldiers, and also not churned up enough on the track.
