Hey All

Gotta love those Jagdpanthers, and boy am I enjoying this one...

My first try at a freehand camo scheme...fair bit of overspray, which I think at various times was paint to thin, too much air, but generally I think problem exists between airbrush and chair !!!

Hi

Another great Jadg

Your paint job is fine!!! Remember that for the most part the paint was applied in the field by the troops. The paint came in a paste and was thinned using whatever they had available.

If you look at some pics, not only will you see various shades of the colours but varying "depths" as well. One reason would likely be the thinning agent used by the crews. If they used a poor one, rain and general wear and tear would scrub the paint away.

Mind, you, if this isn't the effect you wanted, forget everything I just said ... :-)

Peter,
Looking good thus far. Camouflage looks good. The anticipation grows, as I wait on yet another Jagdpanther to be finished.

Excellent camo job! What paint did you use for the brown? Did you do weathering to create the streaking or is that from the overspray? Either way it looks accurate!

G'day Kevin,

Thanks for the comments..

I used Vallejo Tank Brown (Model air 041), lightened with a few drops of Flessh (076).

The streaking is created by using artist oils and enamel thinner (Tamiya). Apply a wash of the oils, always drawing the brush down.

Your first try at freehand camo scheme looks OK, infact it looks good. Nice job...keep it up. Can't wait to see it finished and weathered.
