I,ve done a couple of searches that turned up nothing especially helpful,so I am going straight to the braintrust,YOU guys!
I'm looking for images or materials,real or virtual,that can serve as background to diorama presentations/photos.Mostly for WW2 land/armor dios but any suggestions helpful for brain triggers!

You could use the big calendars - you know the one with pictures on top of the month...
Otherwise find the big books about wwii with b/w photos, takes pictures and develop them in b/w. Just suggestions.

You can use the scenery posters as backdrop picture.
Let me show the one that I used with my Leopold which I bought for less than $2. It's probably one of the biggest backdrop pictures ever used (size = 100 x 150 cm) :
