Hello all,
Does somebody know the Combat weight of a Bradley, and would it be feasible to have one being lifted by a M88A1? I have seen pic's of an M88 lifting an M113 onto a trailer, but what about a Bradley?
Cheers

Should be possible. I saw a rather large forklift removing some Brads here when we got back from Iraq, so an 88 should be able to lift one. The specs I'm showing are at 25 tons, but with the newly added armor, probably pushing close to 30. Theres also a pic out there of an 88 lifting an M109 completely off the ground. Not sure on its weight though. "Q"
ps. Edit- Found a site that lists the M2A2 at 30 Tons and the M2A3 at 30.5 tons.

Henk,
I belive this data was for the prototype M88 (can't tell if it's A1 or not).
5,443kg without suspension lock and dozer blade lowered or 18,160kg with.
Jane's Tank Recognition Guide lists the combat weight of a Bradley at36,886kg.
The M113 weighs in at 11,253kg.
So, based on the above figures I'd say no!

Fully combat loaded Bradley is about 32 tons. An M88A1 can lift 25 tons, M88A2 can lift 35 tons, both with the spade down and suspension locked out.

Thanks all for your quick responses, I'm at work trying to finish my M88A1 in time.
Oh wel, thats that idea out of the window, although I'm still thinking of some other scenarios.. Bradley with mine damage being lifted on one end to replace a wheel(s) or track... maybe a battle damaged turret being replaced.. I'd still have to find some figures for that though, so I might end up just sticking it on a small ground base..
Cheers
