Looking good Andrew. The groundwork looks good. What did you use to make that? Mind sharing your secrets with us? :-)

Thanks Ike and Prato,
Ike The dirt/mud is real dirt from my Garden zapped in the microwave to kill all the bugs then spread over the whole base and set with a white glue/water mix. The snow is Baking soda. Once I had the snow down and the tracks formed I sprayed a dark brown over the dry dirt to give it a "wet" look

The dio looks amazing, Andrew. Really great work on the mud & snow. Just one criticism -- the tank doesn't seem bedded down into the mud. In all the profile shots of the tank I can see the treads on the underside of the track. Looks as if the tank's floating. Don't you think a heavy beast like that would be plowing through the mud?

Thanks Dave and David,
Someone else also brought up the point of the tank 'floating' I can't push it down any further but I will try and build up the mud around the tracks.

Andrew, it's a very beautifull diorama and a great Tiger!
Really like the mud and snow and the chopped tree.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the german markings on the side. I remember
this thread during the AO campaign where the combination of the numbers and cross was also discussed. As I said, I'm not sure about it, but I have several books of the AO and I never saw the markings like that on reference pictures of German Tigers (or other tanks).
Don't know why Dragon put these decals in, but it seems Dragon slipped it.

Thank you very much for that information Paul, As you can probably tell I have very little knowledge of German AFV's and it is always great to learn new things.

Really nice dio, especially groundwork.
I have only one "but"(really only one). In the end of right track there is a place (on the edge of dio) that looks like your tiger's track didn't touch the ground, there is still snow (picture 3). maybe it looks like that on pictures only.

Really came out great. Everything contributes well and supports the scene. Your figures, KT details, and the groundwork are all excellent. You've done yourself proud. Maybe now we can get you hooked on German AFVs? Super job and keep them coming.

Thanks for your comment Jurgen.
Thanks Hilbert: The two infantry guys on the turret come from DML's Panzer riders (Lorraine 1944) no. 6156
And the four infantry walking come from DML's 352nd Volksgrenadiers kit sorry I don't know hwta the number is.
Marcin: Thanks for spotting that I will fix that up later today.
Mike: Thanks for the comments I am glad you like it. I have to say I really enjoyed this build and wouldn't mind doing a couple more German AFV's.

Hey andy that dio is lookin great i love the mud you did, very realistic!. I see youve improved greatly over the time ive been on the big A. keep up the good work! Also something that might look better would be if u painted ur bragdon branches a little darker to enhance the dreary winter feel. Just a thought

Thanks Ian, The branches are actually darker but the snow I put on them was absorbed and lightened the green up which annoyed me.
