Flecktarn would be something like this
Well Probably there are some paintnumbers especially good for painting flecktarn but what I usually do is pick the colors by the eye. The Flecktarn you see in the picture depicts a factory fresh Flecktarn. After already a week or 2 the clothes would have shown different colors due to the weather, wear and tear and washing and drying. So yeah every color matching or almost matching the colors for your Flecktarn are right in my opinion.

Painting any camouflage clothing is easiest if you have a sample of the real thing to look at. Not that desert flecktarn (if you mean the original German pattern) is easy to get your hands on. I've got a shirt in desert flecktarn and yet to see any trousers.
Anyway, things to note are that camouflage patterns are printed on the material, so they repeat after a metre or so and that the pattern doesn't cross seams. So start the pattern again at any joints in the clothing and where anything (like pockets) has been attached. Colours are usually printed one after the other, starting with the lightest, so darker patches will overlie lighter ones and not the other way around. Faust's swatch shows this really well.
Not sure that airbrushing is the way forward, but if you're brave enough to go for it ......

do it with a brush, there is no other way, and as Drader said, mask the seams.

May I also add that unless this is 1:1 then do what you want... Nobody will really risk their eyesight peering too close... On the other hand there are some incredibly sad people out there....
Go for it but don't worry too much. I have models to build (and a wife and kids to support, feed etc) I'm not going to scrutinise it to see if there is a full dot on the pocket when there should be only half.
If it looks good to you then... Hey, great!
ps. I should also mention that I can only see black, white, blue, red and yellow.
Mauve is alien to me as is taupe (spelling(?)) . This annoys SWMBO to boiling point... It doesn't help with painting models either... But then Green and Black doesn't cause too many problems.
