Does anyone know how the markings on the Royal Marines Armored Support Group tank turrents were use?

The idea was that the RMASG Centaurs and Shermans would fire from their landing craft on the in run towards the beach. Spotters could direct their fire aboard the craft and also once landed by saying/shouting to the tank crew: "MG Pillbox, 330 degrees, 200 yards!"
My guess would be that they rehearsed with their adjunct Marines to get this right.

Interesting concept. I was wondering who would get to use the markings since the people in the tank can't see them, and I wouldn't want to be the person standing right next to the tank when getting shot at.

I think there was also an intercom phone at the rear of the tank so that accompanying infantry could request fire on targets in the same way.
