I bought the complete range of pre scale-lightened paints last year. These are the acrylic range produced by Valejo, I believe for the Aircraft Colours company.
I have had constant nightmares trying to spray these paints and am at the point where I am going to bin the lot.
The thing is, I believe the problems I am having are because I am doing something wrong, rather than the paints themselves being bad.
Has anyone any success with these paints?
I learn't early on that you MUST use a primer before spraying these paints, but the issues I am having are multitude. Despite trying various thining liquids (distilled water, isopropyl etc etc) and thining by various degrees I simply cannot achieve any consistancy with the stuff. I get major orange-peel on one wing when the other wing is fine? No change of paint or anything. Now I know I am not the best air-brusher out there, but I have no problems with Tamiya paints or with XtraCrylics or PolyScale.
Heeeeeelllllp

a. are you washing your models with water and a few drops of liquid soap before airbrushing?
It seems that the models come with an oil film on the surface (effect of the manufacturing). This oil film can be more or less prominent on one part of the model than another?
B. is your primer compatible with your paint?
C. Do you wait long enough between base coat and final coat?
