I've pretty much finished my Tiger 1 finally, only some minor touch ups required.

This is Tamiya's Mid Production Tiger 1 #35194, I added the zimmerit with Squadron Green Putty, engine grills from Eduard, the head light cable using some old fuse wire, the co-ax MG, the tow cable using old fuse wire again, the antenna is a piece of fibre optic cable, cut the mud guards using a razor saw, transfers from Archer Fine Transfers and hand painted the turret numbers and cross's.

Painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered using oils, enamels and pastels.

The pics look alot brighter than the actual model.

Feedback please

That's a beautiful Tiger Neil. Good looking paintjob and subtle weathering. I love it.

looks great so far neil. the camo looks good too....

however, IMO the camo on the roadwheels should be slightly dirtier/ more faded, as it is more exposed to dirt/mud than the turret or upper hull areas.

.. and a fig or two will add some scale the tank. perhaps some rubble on the road paving as well?

cheers.

Russ -

That is one sweet looking Tiger. The details and weathering are outstanding. I agree with "moJimbo" in that those open hatches scream for a tank crew! A couple minor additions to the street for would really accent a beautifully done model. Thanks for sharing,

I agree with the others, a couple of crew figures to fill those open hatches, and maybe just a little rubble on the the street. Other wise, a very nice build.

I am not normaly i WWII armour person but recently i have boadened my model interest and that is one of the best looking Tigers i have ever seen. Are the tamiya paints dark green, dark yellow and red brown by any chance? Just checking as i have order thse paints to do my panther!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yes I agree about putting some figures on as well, I have DML Tiger Aces to add, one day?

Will, the colours are the Tamiya ones you mentioned but I added some flat white to the dark yellow to lighten it a bit so after weathering it didn't get to dark.
And what do you think of those All Blacks mate?

Great job! Very well done. The only thing I see is that the inside of the hatches should be painted the same dunklegelb as the outside of the tank, not white.

Fine looking build!

Reference shows interior of hatches exterior color.

You noted that crews would camo the exterior stores, spare tracks, etc.--well done!

I would dirty the running gear up a smidge, unless you are portraying it off the transport, or having been on paved roads.

I agree that a little debris on the street would add interest. And a crew.

Keep going, looks wonderful!

Nice looking Tiger Neil, I don't really know much about German Tanks but everything looks nicely done. I think maybe a bit more weathering on the road wheels would be good if you want.

Cheers guys

I was trying to portray a vehicle that had just arrived or not long been at the front but I will probably take your advice and give the running gear some attention.

Thanks for the heads up on the interior colour Jesse and Fred.
