Stugs where used as infantry support and the Tigers were special Heavy armoured units separate from actual battalions so if you want it to represent one or the other might help make decision
(by the way that is only as doctrine and the German army when pressed did all sorts of weird and wonderful things)
Ian
ps Go the Stug- why I just luv stuggs

I'd go for the stug aswell.
One reason is that Warthhog has a point. Second is that somehow it doesn't seem to fit that a Tiger would have it's barrel cover still on in a ruined city (war zone), but that maybe just my view.
Cheers,
Pascal

I agree,
The stug is better + Tiger has covered barrel... dont think its a smart thing in the city...

i'll go for the tiger. it's bigger size fits in proportion to your diorama size. in other words: big dio with big bldgs need a big tank.
i wouldn't worry about the muzzle cover. the tank could be in an assembly area far behing the front line.
my 2 cents......

Karl -
Everyone brings up good points. Cities and street fighting were not the best "working" environment for armor of any type. With that in mind, I'd say either is a possibility. I'd tend to go with the StuG as the support role fits better. Super looking builds so either will most definitely compliment your dio. Great job and keep us posted.

I say the stug if you are going to add rubble, deris, or figures to the sidewalk and street area. The smaller size of the stug will allow for these additions. If you plan on not adding anything else, then I say go for the big cat. It's size fills the empty gaps better. Good luck.

For variety do the Stug. Everyone and his brother, sister, mother and father has built a Tiger since all those recent releases. The Stug is not as common a build lately. I do like the size and scale of the Tiger with that base but the Stug would be a refreshing change

Stug - shows off the diorama as a whole.
PS - I haven't built a Tiger (YET - 3 on the shelf)

Id agree with the above as well. More of the building is visible with the Stug. Plus Ive never built a Tiger either (unless a bergetiger counts) and with two on the shelf.
Said I agree with the above comment :-) :-)

Definately the Stug, since it was used for infantry support and therefore most common in such a scene, although there have been fights where Tigers could be seen in the streets too.
Stug... my two cents

I say the Tiger, I agree with mojimbo, the tank could be in an assembly area far behing the front line. You see the tank commander wave his hand and he don't wave to the people in a city who the german has liberate. They only people who think that the German liberate their city/lands was desert people in North africa and some russians just early after Operation Barbarossa, by that time the German dosen't have Tiger Tanks.
And the camo on the Tiger looks like Normandy camo so you could build a dio in a German city, The Tiger is on they way to France to help is comrades and they Tank commander waves to an euphoric group of germans citizen who wish him good luck.

If you're planning to use some infantry, then use defenitly the Stug III- they were used for infantry support!
If you're planning to use one or two figures- or none at all, then the best is the Tiger!
I hope I have helped you somehow!
Cheers and happy modelling!
