Hello i was wonder ing if shepard paine's book, how to build dioramas, is a good buy.

The books by Shep Paine are among the best you can buy. IMHO they beat the Verlinden books by far, because there is much more text to guide you step-by-step.

Its a must have - I like the 2nd edition a bit better, but either are fantastic. Anything by Shep is worth having.

In my opinion it's still the best book out there for diorama builders. It still inspires me to build dios after all these years.

IMHO Verlinden's early books were alright but the later ones turned into glorified advertisements for his AM stuff. A lot of the articles were about "shake-and-bake" dioramas. Paine teaches you how to scratchbuild things, not just paint and glue down something someone else made.

Today i will walk to the store and get the book. Thanks to every one. I dont know which edition they have though.
