Finaly getting somewhere with this street diorama,i filled in a lot of the holes,but still some visible i want to write a name above the shop,i was going to put cafe but i think its too short,i tryed a google on french ww2 cafes but i only get modern cafes and restaurants.anyone think of a good french name so i could paint it on?
any way thanks for your time.

Maybe Caen cafe?

Allo Allo ha ha,i was thinking of cafe rene only yesterday,but i think it may sound silly :-)
Max i weathered the brick using a black oil wash.
jeroen that would be a great help if you could find me a name for the cafe.

Your Ruin looks amazing, Karl! I think the poster on the wall should be a bit thorn and dirty because of the ruins (just trying to help!)!
What about giving it the name of "Café Dubois"? It is a usual name in France and it will fit any part of the country!

karl,you are right.its hard to find a name.a few i made up;LA CAVALCADE,napoleon,liberte cafe ,cafe noir.thats it so far.if i see something i will let you know.

Karl,

why not use Café Gondree. Café Gondree was the first building in France that was liberated in 1944.

Or, making it not sounding so silly as Cafe Rene, you could use Cafe Candide...the Cafe from Albert Foiret in the tv series Life Line (Secret Army).... Cafe Rene was based on Cafe Candide....

If you decide to call it cafe rene dont forget to put LT gruber's little tank out the front (I think it was a 222).
And the police officer to I think he was great.
