Got a new batch of photo's from Tom that I added to Scenes from Iraq.
He wasn't sure what this one is. I think it is a XM1070 but can't confirm.
Any ideas?

It is an M4 C2V, Command and Control vehicle. It is built on an M270 MLRS chasis. Based on side and bumper #s, the one pictured is one from 3ID during the invasion. 3rd Division had 3 of them. They were named Thor, Zeuss, and Apollo, or someting like that, Greek God names. Pretty nice vehicles. Only downside, driver can not get into the rear crew area without exiting the cab and walking to the back. Cab and crew area are totally separated by the engine behind the cab. More info here, M4C2V.

HI

Thanks for the pix. I have been gathering misc shots here and there because I have always wanted to build one. These are of great help.

Thanks.

Those pictures would be a great scrap build on a MLRS base and see if I could copy it. It would look great if I could copy it. It would be a nice OIF dio with some figures around pointing at something in a direction of the vehicle.

Gino,
How can you tell the difference between both vehicles? From what little I can find on the net, the side view drawings look pretty much the same (although I am tending to lean towards your answer).

Don't know about the differences, believe they are minimal. Both use the same chasis and Command Post box on back. I think the XM1070 has some more antennas and boxes and bumps on top and sides though.

The vehicles you have pictured though are from 3ID and are C2Vs. I saw them in Iraq with the bumper #s and side ID #s that are in the pic.
