I just started building the Minenraumer made by RPM, and I was wondering what the possible paint schemes might be? I have seen some pictures of the vehicle in grey, and some in dark yellow. The "feet" (I guess you could call them that) on the wheels are a darker color on the box art. Would that be flat black or should I mix some grey in with the black to lighten it a little? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Hey Jason,

Just a thought, rather than the "black" how about a dr grey or even the Nato black (it has some greenish tinge to it).

As for the base vehicle, I would opt a simple yellow for its time period.

Just my 2¢ thought here.

Well, it's been an interesting build so far. I have spent most of the time working on the wheels since they have a lot of parts. The rear wheel had some fit problems, but the two front wheels go together easily. Each wheel has an assembly of parts that, when connected, form a ring around the wheel. In the rear, the interlocking pieces each have a pin that connects into a hole of another piece. Well, each hole in the rear had to be drilled out a little to make them fit correctly. It wasn't hard, just kind of sad that the tolerance was off by as much as it was. The front however, went together just fine. I need to clean up the parts a little. I started working on the hull last night. It consists of 5 pieces or so. Two pieces make up the sides, and these were warped severly, so I had to heat the plastic just enough to bend them back in shape. I took my time glueing the parts together for the hull since it has been tricky to fit it all. Once I get that together and slap on the little parts here and there, I should be good. I need to order an airbrush and practice with that soon too. Luckily I have a Hobbycraft BMP-1 that I got from Hobby Lobby for 3 bucks to practice on. After that, time to lay some paint on this crazy thing. I will see if I can get some pictures up for you to show the wheel assembly, since it is better seen than explained. Oh ya, the instructions are a little lacking, the sprues have no numbers on them next to the parts, and the wheel assembly instructions reference the wrong parts. Despite all this, I love a challenge and it's a crazy model to build. Once completed, it will be fun to show off I hope.
