I use humbrol 54 brass for this . Humbrol 55 bronze also gives a nice finish.

Yep, brass ( humbrol 54 ) Bronze ( humbrol 55 ) and copper ( humbrol 12 ) are the ways to go.
Also good: humbrol Antique bronze ( 171 if I am not mistaken ).

Hi
I have found Alclad II Pale Burnt Metal to be very good. Only drawback is it is fairly noxious...

Is the paint from humbrol oil based?
So far I have only used acrylics paint from Tamiya.
If it is oil based what additional items I would need (brush, bursh cleaner etc)?
thanks.

Model Masters has a Brass metalizer. #1417 It is lacquer based, they say airbrush only but I hand brush it with no problems.

You will need a bottle of white spirit to clean your brushes and thin your paint if needed, also leave the paint to dry overnight.
