I would like to know if anyone out there would know what the color is the germans used for the underside of the turret for the Panzer IV's? Would it still be the primmer red?

I always do mine in dunkelgelb since it was painted in the factory that color. My guess would be that the turret and the hull would probably be painted befor assembly, since you'd be rotating the turret to reach the overhangs anyway. Also, withthe concept of countershading, you'd want a realtively lifght color where the shadows would be the darkest.

As far as I know, the vehicle parts were painted primer red before assembly. It's possible that turrets were painted the base colour of the time before being added to the hull.
