I am getting ready to build this kit and I was wondering what if any upgrades/additions people woulc recommend for it. I think I would need a barrel and screens. I have already purchased a set of WW2 Productions tracks for it. I am not looking to drop a ton of photoetch on it but I would want screens for the engine deck. Either that or I make them myself.
What do you guys recommend (and a supplier of said item if you know one).
Thanks!

Hey Rob,
what you have suggested looks fine to me, is this the late version you are working on or the early one? I have the late one and have added a barrel, Eduard PE and some Fruil tracks, other than that this is a most excellent kit that can be built straight from the box. Eother Eduard or Aber do screens for this model, and either would suit it

Early one and I am confused on what barrel I need as there seems to be many different 20mm German WW2 barrels out there.

Jordi Rubio is way to go this is the one you need
JRB 35023 GERMAN 2cm FLAK 38, PZ II LUCHS
That is the one i used on my kate, so i am thinking the same one should be ok for yours.

Aber is the way to go for your photo etch - I just got this kit as well and got the two Aber PE sets for it too. There is an Aber barrel ( - 35 L-42 German 2 cm tank gun barrel L/56 for KwK 38) as well and ammo cartrides (- 35 A94) Magazines and ammo boxes for 20 mm KwK 30 & 38) to boot. The engine screen issue is a bit of a sticky wicket- some say that there is no phot graphic proof from that time that shows screens in place and that any screens mounted on this vehicle were done by the museums. The Aber Pe comes with width indicator poles as well

Thanks!
I ordered the JR barrel and Aber basic etch set for it. I will see what that gets me and decide from there how far I want to take it (I am still a novice with etch I mangle more of a set than I use). My plan is to place the Luchs on a base which will be either the start of a Bridge or maybe in a field of tall grass. One figure will likely be used or perhaps 2.
