Yesterday(thursday) at the first day of Dragon Expo Trumpeter has put on display the parts layout for some 1/48 Shermans There were four hull types
M4-small hatch
M4A1-small hatch
Two M4A3's
Today I am going to get better pics and more info It looked like there were three T-23 76mm turrets I will post here with more news

Please don't turn this into "why oh why is Trumpeter doing this" #:-)

The quarterscale virus is spreading.... how long before Dragon is infected, and they market in 1/48 too?

It would be hilarious if all of the main manufacturers switch to quarter scale, and retire their lines of GI Joes! :-)

I'm looking forward to new kis in 1/48 scale. With Skybow completely retooled to 1/48 scale and Trumpeter moving to 1/48 scale I think Tamiya is going to be hard pressed on the new products. The Skybow Tigers blow the Tamiya tiger out of the water as far as detail, and Trumpeter has a list of not so common armor products that they may scale to 1/48 scale. Also the add on market is coming out with some really nice add ons. Hauler PE , Armour workshop tracks and barrels WWII productions tracks etc.

If Trumpeter is indeed going to follow up their Sherman kits (5?) with more releases, what do you think they will be? Frankly, I'm expecting something that will allow them to do multiple variations from the base kit just as they are doing with the M4s. If that logic has merit, then the likely subject may either be a T34, or PzIV.... Just look were they'be taken the 1/35 Hotchkiss H39 . what think ye ?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for scale down Hotckiss kits and possibly the new Stuer Emil and KVs. They are releasing T34/85 later and I would hope they scale that down as well. Lots of possibilites.

More '48! MORE MORE MORE!!!! The golden age is dawning!

I can't imagine the companies replacing 1/35, but I've also read many comments like, "...another Sherman/Tiger/T-34...", etc. I wonder if the plethora of 1/35 subjects--aside from early WWII AFVs and French AFVs--hasn't saturated the market with high quality kits? So now they are moving to the long-suffering 1/48

If the rumors are true, after the Sherman releases, Trumpeter will bless us with Russian armour next. Sounds like this year's exciting times for 1/48 will continue into next year.
