Heya all, i started doing the groundwork....

Just one layer of earth left to do, than wash the tracks and entire groundwork with dark brown and at the end , dust all with pastels and mattcoat it.

What kind of terrain are you trying to similate? It looks like it could be mud with the dark brown. The figure left no footprints and there is no mud on his boots

I'd also add at least a few splotches of turf to break up the landscape. It currently looks very barren. If you are leaving it wtihout more grassy stuff, at least give the groundwork more texture.

Mirko, you say there is just one more layer of earth to do, I would suggerst to add a thin layer of sand or similair scatter ground cover ( with PVA glue). that would leave the figure and the tank sunk into the ground just enough. It would counter the 'barren' , empty feel of the rest of the vignette, and you could add some static grass to add a small splash of color.
I know it's been said before, but I will say it again, that Figure and Pzr I look great.

Cheers

thanks fro replies guys

First, this is a project for a magasine article im doing step-by-step for beginners. I wont add any more turf/grass becouse beginners either cant find it here or dunno how to use it.

when i wrote "one more layer of earth" i meant that, i will mix some garden earth with white glue/water and apply to groundwork, so both the fig and the tank will get "deep" and the fig and the tank are not glued to the base so i can add footprints on that last layer of earth.

but thanks fro suggestions! if i would be doing this one more seriously, i could use those suggestions for sure!!!

I like this one..What is that material that you have used for the groundwork? I think it looks definately like something that a beginner could do easily. Nothing elaborate, just straight forward..Great Job..Can't wait to see what it looks like once you add the next layer of "earth" to it..Keep us posted.

I see a nice dio coming up..I'm sure u will be adding sand or something on the groundwork...Is the groundwork plastercine? My favourite groundwork material is plastercine coz u can make track marks, footprints, just like what u did.

Very nice, I can see where you are trying to go with this, but, the ground needs to be broken up with some more grass and shrubs I think, to much of a monotone look if you know what I mean. If this tank is going through that thick of mud, the tracks need to be dirtied up more and some mud on the fenders, road wheels and front/back of tank wouldn't hurt.

In addition, I would dab some mud on the boots and bottom of the coat.

Very nice, just a little more small things could really make this dio come to life.
