Guys
I've had a DML panther A (early) here for a while that I've been contemplating giving a coat of whitewash. What I've done to the turret only is almost dry brush a layer of matt white on to simulate a freshly done but hastily applied whitewash.
Any comments, criticisms and helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Pete

I like it! It really looks like the soldiers quickly slapped on some whitewash to hide their tank! Good job.

Yes Peter, that looks good. Good direction of the brush strokes (up and down ) has given the impression of the white wash having 'run down' during application and drying. I also like how the crew has spilt paint on the deck whilst working... :-) .
Looking good, did you use Acrylic or Enamels? Try the same technique with diluted white acrylic , and use a wet cotton bud to streak the paint down. It's great for the Washed off effect.
Cheers
Henk

I do think its very good. Somthing about it though Its possibly that it just looks too organized lol. It looks like they spent alot of time covering every little spec of this turret. Ive never seen a picture of a tank completely whitewashed like this before. If there are any, please SOMEBODY?! But im sure you will put paint chips, drybrush, wash it and make it look all beat up. So I have faith in this project!

Peter most white wash was put on with a mop or a broom. The job you have done looks great. The job may be a bit sloppier on the real thing. Instead of a brush you might want to try a Q-tio cotton swab to apply the paint.

Stormbringer -
I think it looks great, and you've done a great job. I especially like the way the deck was done as it gives it the feel that the crew "swabbed" it on with a mop/broom. Thanks for the example. I'm planning a Russian front Tiger I (Mid) with winter camo and this really helps. I'll also use the cotton swab approach so thanks all.

looks awsome man! I like the effect, I mean they would even go as far as using pine tree branches to get that white over their tanks!

Very nice I like it a lot. The streaks are well done on the whole tank.
Harrison, there is a book in Squadron's Panzer Colors with a Tiger that looks like it came off the factory painted white, think it was positioned near Leningrad.

Looks very ''cool''
I like the strokes on it, but it, what said before, a little to much organized.
But it is still impressive.

Ps you missed a spot
