I am desperately trying to find a copy of the Tankograd book on the Maz-535 & Maz-537. I am trying to build the PSP Models resin version of this transporter and I don't think I can finish the model without it. I am willing to pay any reasonable price.

Hi Michael,

I don't have a copy, but I did some looking around for one. You might give Mission Models a call. They show one for $25 on their site, but sometimes, that doesn't mean it's in stock.

The site uses frames, so it's a bit hard to get you to the right page and have it look okay, but here's the main page...
http://www.missionmodels.com

...and here's the Tankgrad page...
http://www.missionmodels.com/pages/tankograd.htm

I checked abebooks.com and found some copies, bith are around $36, but one is in the UK and the other is in Australia. Books come an go there, so you might keep an eye out for one more local. Go to here and search for "tankograd 535"...
http://www.abebooks.com

Another one to try is Alibris...
http://www.alibris.com/

However, I might be able to save you some money and time. ArmyBooks has a booklet about the MAZ-535/537 from the Russian Motor Books series. It's $12...

http://www.armybook.com/summary.html?code=0103004ak8

Here's the description...

"E-BOOK 0005 MAZ-535/537, 52 pages. More 100 figures and photos. RePrint N33. Circulation is limited to 99 books. Specially created edition on the basis of the several old original repair manuals and operation of engineering for the founders of models and restorers. Two languages: Russian and English. 13,5 Mb (300 dpi)"

I have a number of these books and have found them to be very interesting and informative. They're geared toward maintaining the vehicles, so if you need to overhaul the engine, these are the ones to have. Actually the pictures, and especially the drawings are excellent.

But it's a long way from Russia and it's a special order item. They don't have it in stock and would have to locate a copy.

But...here's the really good news. The have a PDF copy, which you can download for $3...

They have some sample pages...

You can pay for it with a credit card or PayPal. I've bought numerous books from them, both paper and electronic, and haven't had any problems thus far.

If your more comfortable on eBay, ArmyBooks sells things there too. I see they have the e-book on sale now for $5...

Aling the way, I noticed some interesting related sites. Here's the Tankograd page about Special Issue #2...

Here's a Russian site with some good pics at the bottom...

Another Russian site, with just three pics, but I liked the one with the trailer...

A nice front view...

...and finally, one that looks like someone has parked out in the backyard...

...they certainly keep it tidy...

Both of those, and a couple more pics here...

Good luck wiith it.

Karl,
Thanks for all the help that was really helpful.

I found the book on ebay a couple of days ago. I ordered the online version with a cd. The CD takes 4-7 weeks to come from Russia.

The abebooks website is real goldmine. I ordered the book from Australia. I think it will be very helpful to finish the PSP model as well as the upcoming Trumpeter kit.
