Hi folks
After trying and throwing away a number of sketches I think I've come up with an idea that might work for a diorama featuring my Horch. Its a pretty simple idea. It shows the Horch with a 20mm mounted on the back stopped at a roadblock / bunker in southern Italy. The driver and crew are asking directions. Heres where I need some help. What I'm thinking about is this. The bunker is located at a bend in the road in order to cover both the northern and southern approaches down the road. Its built with sandbags and tree branches. There are two mg 42s, one each covering a section of the road. My problem is that I'm trying to nail down what kind of details would be inside the bunker. That, and would the Germans defend a roadblock this way, or am I way off here. Any ideas would be a big help Thanks
Thanks in advance
Harry

I've got a few good photos of the "log type bunkers" mixed in w/ my other german photos.
If I can find them I will upload or e-mail them to you.
Good Luck

stephen, the scale in indicated on the right, its 1/32 or 54mm if you preffer, could work with a typical 1/35 diorama, only problem is it would slightly be out of scale and depending who is building it could bother them.
also these are diecast and pre painted, so there isnt any work to do on them.

Well I must say, tactically the dio sounds very sound. Fields of fire and the such. Bunker contents are actually easier than you think. They would simply max out ammo and creature comforts. Now maxing out ammo doesn't mean it becomes a depot for the next offensive either. Grenades are not effective being thrown out of a bunker, panzerschreck couldn't be fired in an enclosed area, but tripods and binos would be very welcome. TANK makes some wonderful mg42 tripods...
