I am confused about this I thought you only needed to have the Hobby Fan item # HF 051 AAV7A1 EAAK Conversion set. To have a correct AAV7 kit now I seen this HF 053 AAV7A1 W/MOUNTING HARD WARE FOR EAAK on Hobby Easy and now I am confused.
Is the AAV7A1 W/MOUNTING HARD WARE FOR EAAK a different type of EAAK or do I have to get both sets to have a correct kit. Or can I have both kits and use each conveversion as there own kits and put them on 2 different Tamiya AAV7A1 kits.
I thought I seen a picture of just the AAV7A1 W/MOUNTING HARD WARE FOR EAAK on a AAV7A1 but might be wrong.

Or would that look funny; is there any out there in OIF or ODS that had just the AAV7A1 W/MOUNTING HARD WARE FOR EAAK

The hardware kit is the small, permanantly mounted blocks that the larger EAAK attach into. The HF-053 hardware model kit would be used BY ITSELF ONLY; the HF-051 kit would also be used by itself. You have two conversion kits for two separate AAV model kits. It is not unusual to see both versions in action, as both are a pretty common configuration, side by side, though generally not in the same AAV company, but its not unheard of or rare by any means.
Included is a shot of both types, with EAAK attached and without, sharing the same bit of real estate. I have some shots from OIF that have both with and without EAAK as well.
Hope this clears things up for you. PM with any more questions.
Stateside with AAVP7A1's with RAM upgrade, both with and without EAAK.
OIF AAVP7A1 w/ RAM upgrade but without EAKK added
OIF AAVP7A1 w/o RAM upgrade with EAAK added

In my opinion, the only benefit to the HF 053 kit would be a placement template. Otherwise, it is possible to duplicate with styrene strips as I have started:
There are several great reference photos online and you should pick up the Military in Scale for August.
