That was my reaction when comming back on Armorama after a week holiday and find some great looking pictures in the MP campaign gallery!

Thanks Animal, Danial and Darktrooper!

Also found out USNavy2534 finnished his MP Humvee in a very special way also.

I'm starting the scratchbuilding parts of my Brittish MP VW Beetle soon.
Pictures are comming up!

How's the rest comming along during the summer?
Keep us posted!

Hey Jim, good to hear from you!
Indeed a good thing we have some time left.
I notice a bunch of members are on (well deserved) holiday, so it's very quit on the 'campaign front' this month.

Hey Jim,

Man, that looks good. I like that little fading of the markings on the side and the red mud. How did you do the visor? Is it painted? Looks like real glass.

Hi Paul
The vision blocks are very simple. They are painted silver (or any bright metal colour ie steel,aluminum....).Then mix green/blue India ink in Tamiya clear until you are happy with the colour.Paint the clear mixture over the silver and............you have vision blocks.
This was the first kit I did it on and I am quite happy the way it turned out.

As an ex MP myself I had to take part in this campaign. I have finally settled on a subject. I'm attempting a vignette based on Tony Vaccaro's photo of an 83rd Inf Div MP directing traffic in Passau Germany 1945 from his book"Entering Germany". He's standing in front of a concrete street lamp with about a hundred unit signs and directions on it.Using artistic lisence I might add a returning german POW. Now all I have to do is start. Any good sites showing US MP uniforms?

Hi Pat,

Actually I was looking for such a site myself but I could not find it. Perhaps you can find some info at the site of the US MP School: http://www.wood.army.mil/usamps/default.htm

However, I did found some B&W pictures of MP's in occupied Germany, if you like I can email them to you.

Thanks Paul but I probably did the same exhaustive search as you did. I guess us redcaps are just not too popular. This is the figure I'm attempting.
Copyright is Tony Vaccaro's.

I tried direct linking to this photo in ,my gallery photos but it wouldn't work

Hi Jim,

A pitty you have to take a hold! It's looking so good I can't hardly wait to see the end result. But than again: I have the same situation and the 500 ends sooner :-)

The model looks real nice, very good stowage and excellent figures as far as I can see. Nice to see your progress compared to the earlier picture. It looks the vehicle runs over a bump, according to the position of the track; so that's a promising for the dio.

I like the color and texture of the mud very much, but looking at it again I think the mud is a bit too "straight" applied on the back; I would suspect more 'spatters' on the hull. But than again, this can be particular for this vehicle and I'm not so in modern armour, so... not much said about that

Paul
