Another item in progress. A bad case of modellers block over the last few months, has lifted somewhat, so I decided to treat myself to a new kit (thatīs my excuse anyway).
Pretty straight forward so far, thanks to all the write-ups, so I knew what to look out for in advance. Its built OOB except for some brass wire for the Falke connections.
I have a Verlinden UHU conversion and hope to incorporate two 251s in a Late war street scene. (Long term project for now)
All comments, tips and critic are welcome.

I really like the start of this bro. With all the extra equipment, I think that means it belongs to a night fighting unit? This has always been an unanswered question for me. Well, I would definatly like to see more of this thing as it progresses. Keep us posted!

Correct. The Dragon 3īnī1 comes with the night fighting soldier kit also, and I got 2 of them. The other I will convert to the UHU and use the verlinden conversion set. Itīll be a late ī45 scene. Might even stretch to a night fighting Panther as well, as these vehicles were used as support to the heavy tanks.

Iīll be posting more .. just dont know when yet! All the best.

Never seen that gear before, Frank. Is Falke the name of the night equipment? How did it work? Are those infra-red spots mounted next to it?

I beleive it would usually be called "Nacht Jaeger" which means "Night fighter". That might help you a little out with some research but I know that wasnt what you were asking for.

Because of that color, it now looks like a resin kit :-) :-) :-) Great job so far. Will you do a soft-edge camo or a hard one? I can't get ref photos for the Falke's camo.

Keep us posted!

Nice looking Falke.
Where did you get the wiring info from?

Others have had troubles with the body panels and getting the upper hull to sit properly. It doesn't look like you had any problems.
Did you do anything special to ensure good fit?

Not to be the one to defer anyones gratification, but DML has announced a UHU and I believe it actually has an item number now, but not much more info than that.
Even with Verlinden, MB and R&J Uhu conversions in the stash, I'll probably wait until the DML version comes out.

I have a few reference books on the 251, but for wiring the Falke, I used THIS SITE .The drawings are quite clear and coupled with some real pictures, some sense can be made with the tangles of cables.

The 251 Newsgroup site is a great help and should be bookmarked by anybody interested in the 251. I tried to join the group, but the moderator cant make new members .. some problems with yahoo, IIRC. But if anybody is listening .. Im still interested, ifits possible!!!

Some more from the same site, for those that are interested

Tamiya dark yellow (XF-60) and then faded with the same and buff (50/50) I have no idea about camo yet, but at the moment it looks like soft-sdge as Im not a fan of masking. Unless, over the course, I hear its only possible with hard-edge, thats the plan so far!

Yeah, lots and lots of dry-fitting and I sanded the top of the dash, as the top hull see-sawed a little. I used the back door side to get the side angles right. Thanks to lots of explanations and questions over the last few months I was aware of what to look for .. (Thanks Vinnie for all your replies to others ... saved me a lot heartache!!)

Yeah I know about Dragons UHU, and thats why I said earlier this would be a long term project. Iīll wait and see their parts and instructions, but hope to still use the Verlinden version. Time will tell.
I have gathered up alot of parts for this build .. R&J engine, Eduard PE, Tamiya kit, AFV Club wheels and tracks and hopefully use some Dragon extras. I know this is the hard waybut the parts were collected over time andwere not expensive and its a sort of challenge.
Thanks to all you guys for your comments and nice words .. Feel free to inout where you can/will etc. Cheers.

looks good man, I just started my work on a night fighting Panther G. It's an older DML kit, but still a goodie with the fruils and verlinden am parts for it. As for the cables on the IR stuff, what did you use? I'm going to have to do that for the machine gun on the turret too, but I don't know what to use!
