Ive also cooked up an idea to add a smashed He-111 or Ju-87 Stuka into my train station dio. Its supposed to be totaled (preferably HE-111) with the tail sticking out of the rooftop and wings spread out over the floor of the station and on wrecked train cars. I'd like to know what does a wrecked He-111 look like and how should i make the burned infrastrcture of the tail and wings in 1/35? What materials hould i use? Thanks.

First, you would need line drawings in 1/35. This would serve as your reference. If you already had the 1/48 one, just convert it to 1/35.
For materials, you may either use styrene or aluminum. First, you must make the frame of the tail and the wings using styrene and then cover it with a very thin layer of styrene or aluminum foil to form the "skin" of the aircraft.
Well it's kinda hard to explain, but I guess you got my point. Good luck

If you are going to scratch build the 111 you'll need either styrene strips, or balsa strips as the framing that you would see under the outter 'skin'. For the outter 'skin' I would use kitchen foil.
I would not try and do a perfect 100% foil over strips model. I would mak as much of the tail and wing sections by covering a large piece of cardboard with the foil. Then at the damaged ends I would make enough exposed framing to show damage, and bend the foil to represent where it pulled away. Same with the tail section.
As far as references - you may have to build from a photo of a good 111 then make your best guess on how it would break. But with a glass nose there won't be much left of the front end.
Oh - a quick google on HE 111 got this - with crash landed images

Thanks but ive seen all creashed He-111 s on Google already, as for building the damn thing, i think ill use Pepsi cans and tke the specs of the 111 and divide them by 35. Does that sound logical or what? How about i make the wings from cardboard?

Vlad, this is quite an undertaking. I look at it this way, if you have a plane totalled into your rain station, chances are that there wouldn't be that much that is recognizbale remaining from the 111. I would look for something a little less complex to do this, ie.. maybe a 1/32 stuka, 109, or 190. This would eliminate the need to scratch build parts and pieces in 1/35 of the 111. Again, not much would remain so you could pick a few readily identifiable pieces, such as teh tail section, maybe the engine, etc.. from the plane kit and stategically place them on the dio base. Chop up some scrap plastic rods, cut up some aluminum can, and or plastic sheet, scatter randomly for the debris....repeat as needed until you achieve the look you are after. Hope this gives you some ideas. Good luck. "Q"

Well, i guess youre right but i have seen He-111s smashed into buildings and remain in relatively decent condition. I thouhgt that making twisted metal out of Pepsi cans and making a tail out of cardboard and some sprues would make it look like some sort of aircraft. It would be a great addition to my dio, i mean considering that this plane crashed right through the glassed roof of the building and smashed its nose into benches and wall inside the building with it wings somewhere on the train cars.
