Hi guys
i'm just about to finish my first diorama for this year. if u notice, i posted some of the ongoing progress of my "Loading Dios" a few months ago, but i have changed my mind so it looks like this now:
i don't know what else i should add to this dio. Does it look ok do u think? or something's wrong with the dio? don't judge the figures yet . i know my figure painting skill is still far away from good.. all ur critiques are welcome guys
Thanks
Ricky

What I just figured out was that the barrell and logs are too clean. The KT has gunk and mud all over the wheels giving the impression of very loose muddy ground. I would expect a bit more on the logs and a touch more at the base of the barrell. The photos do show some darkness on the logs, I can't tell if that's bark or dirt?
Overall nicely done.

Ricky, you did a fine job man.
No major nit-picks, with the type of gooey mud you have on the ground you might want to slop a little more on the K.T. upper skirts and hull but it's not really necessary. Hell maybe it just pulled off the road.
Your dio would look great also if you took a couple of pics. in b&w or sepia tone. When I looked at the pics. you posted in the forum thats the first thing that came to my mind.
Great first Dio. Cheyenne

u r right mate, i will add some more mud around the barrel and stuffs there, about the darkness, its from the bark, since i got it from my uni's garden (it's free )
cheyenne
it's a good idea to take in B&W, i'll try it sometimes
jonathan
i won't add more trees on this dio cause it's gonna look too squeezey
by the way, any ideas of naming the dio, what should i call this dio?

Don't take any offense please. there's nothing that I see that YOU'VE done wrong with your painting or construction, but to me, the figures themselves just don't look natural. I can't figure out what they're doing. They look so stiff, know what I mean? I love the tank, the base, but if it was me, I'd try and experiment with some other characters and see if I could stimulate a better story line or convey some emotion.
