Hi guys, here is my M-51 Super Sherman by Academy.
The pic's make it look very orange, but it is NOT. They also make it look glossy, but that is proberly because I took them while the dullcote was drying.
PS: I am going to stick with German armour, I find that I can build that better.
As always, all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Hi Anthony,
I think that you've done a good job. The only thing that really sticks out to me, is the upper portion on the tank is too clean compared to the lower hull. I think if you go back and do some weathering on the upper hull it would go a long way to tie everything together and give the kit a better overall appearance.
Can't see the figures that well to make a comment on them.
As for your comment
I have one question. Were you totally happy with all your German builds? I'm sure you made improvements in the German builds as you went along and think you will do just fine with non- German builds if you persist.
I'm the same way with my builds that are anything but OD Green. I'm much happier with my weathering on them than other things, but I want to improve my skills in all areas. Don't sell yourself short. I see some great potential in those pictures.

greetings Anthony14... i think you did a good job on the tank. how's the build? i've got one in the stash myself- going to start on it soon.
if i may suggest... try lightly overspray the whole model (except the figs) with light sand colour to achieve a more 'dusty' look...

Hi there anthony loks like a good clean build. jsut a few nitpicks hopefully to improve on any skills. the grey parts in teh wheels and some other crasks are these meant to be that colour or did you happen to miss them. and also as said earlier the tank could use some weathering done since the middle east is extremely sand and dust it could use some more weathering on the wheels and on the hull area. well hope this helps remember this is here for help so just ask.

Thanks all.
It is the blue primer that I use, I saw this too late into the build so I could not go back and fix it,
For making it more dusty, how high should I bring up the Tamiya buff?
Thanks again, Anthony.

Looks pretty good.
Three things.
1. The tracks are floating above the return rollers and float upeards of the idler defeating the image of weight.
2. The tank appears to be in action. I doubt there'd be open shell boxes on the rear deck.
3. I doubt the driver would be that far out of his hatch, especially with the turret turned that way. One of the club members told me of an incident where a driver was done in by being exposed like that when the turret turned and caught him.

Nice build on this kit. I did it a few months ago and it definately needs some work around the mantlet area. Also that suspension can be a cahllenge to be flat on each boogie.

Just a tip for you on the 'orange' look. IMHO I think it may be the flash on the camera. When i am taking pics, I make sure the kit is lit from lamps etc and take the pic with the flash turned off.
Give it a go, seems to work for me.
Nice model BTW!
