I just discovered this on the Dragon site. So, Tristar puts out a Panzer IV with all sorts of new goodies no one else has done and this is Dragon's answer...a Panzer IV with the same new features plus a metric butt ton more....and a figure of General Guderian. A pity Tamiya can't, or won't, do the same.

to me it is just another german tank as usual.
Pity they can't put some of those type of details in some decent Allied stuff apart from Shermans.
cheers

Holy smokes! That's a lot features to go on a kit. I have been looking for those cactus for quite sometime now. Expect more DAK figures to be released.

Although I'm a German vehicle fan and its great to see another great release, I do agree with Cliff, I'd love to see DML release some more allied stuff.

We already covered the release of this model in news stories here on Armorama.
Anyway, I already have the cacti sprue from this kit Nice opuntia made of DS100 material, but not fully accurate - needles are not depicted :-)
I can't wait for the rest of this kit... should be out soon... very soon...

And for a change, although both manufacturers are releasing similar kits at almost the same time (have we seen this before?), this time they have actualy managed to release two rather different versions of the Pzr IV, so there will be no problem explaining to SWMBO why I have bought 'two identical kits'..
Now to the shop to get the shop keeper to order some..
Cheers

Looks like a great kit, but alast, I also wish they would do something in the allied area besides another Sherman.
A halftrack would be nice, hell they got just about every German halftrack covered....... How about one for the olive drab crowd.......!!!!!

I'm going to surprise even myself and NOT complain about this kit, when I think they sould come out with more Allied stuff. Even as an Allied modeler I can see the huge value of these kits. The Pz IV wasn't as sexy as the Tiger, but if Germany had one the war it would probably have been due more to the Pz IV than the tiger.
Okay here's a question. This kit sure looks like it's a desert version. I don't know beans about German tanks so I'm not sure about this. If this is true why include Guderian? Was he ever in the desert?
If I ever have any extra money, which is becoming really scarce these days, I might have to get this one. It should look good knocked out with some British Tommies walking by it.

I don't even care much for German stuff, but I might get this when it appears at Hobby Lobby just for the cactus.
The needles are no problem- I did a Saguaro for a guy in Yuma with putty and static grass. Just the right amount of grass looks just like needles.

This is 3-in-1 kit. DAK version is just one of three offered. You will also be able to build the east front vehicle and that's why Guderian figure is included.

the 36 is not really an accurate dimension. The measurements were taken from the wrong places. The 36 should have always been 38 mm

Isn't that a British Armoured Car in the background?
Isn't the rumor that DML puts future releases on the
box art of current releases?
At least I can hope
