I see Perth has a review on the new Tamiya Leclerc. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/tamiya/tam35279.htm Seems like a decent kit, if you want one of the Lecler, but it does mention one critical issue. It mentions how in order to make the kit you'd have to get the optional PE set. Looking at Great Models onlie they show a sale price of $42.70 for the kit, down from a "list" of $56.95, and a sale price of $11.70, down from $14.95 for the PE. So between $54.40 and $71.90 in order to make it as the instructions shows? I know all the arguements about how Tamiya is not that interested in static kits anymore, or that they're concentrating on 1/48, but why would they come out with a kit that gives less, and charges more, than recent kits from DML?

Good question Rodger. Only the Shadow knows for sure :-) Couldn't resist. You plan on picking one up? Once we get moved I may get one, then again, I am starting to thin the herd and focusing on 1:1 stuff. Anybody have some more input on why the big "T" is doing this? IIRC they did the same thing with the Swordfish kit. "Q"

Sorry Pawel that I missed it. I just find it hard to believe that they are serious about competing with ANYBODY, let alone DML, with kits and prices like this. I can't figure them out, but I know one thing. As soon as I have every Tamiya kit from the past that I might want, I doubt I'll ever get another one.

No Matt, I don't plan of picking one up, I was just curious what others thought about this. I've got a Tammy Abrams, and that's about it for me and modern stuff.
