Hello All

Can anyone tell me of a company (ie. Eduard) and part number for 1/35th straps.I'm looking for different sizes for securing equipment (cam nets, jerry cans......).I really hate robbing them from other sets.

Thanx

Hi Jim !

You can find some sets in Eduard's "Zoom" range :
TP513 German Tie-downs and straps
TP515 US Tie-downs and straps
These two sets are pre-painted.
There was also another unpainted set for US Tie-downs and straps #TP027.
Aber has also released a "Buckles and straps" set (35 A21) that can be useful for buckles....

Hiya Jim,
Some time ago Frenchy told me of the Eduard TP038 set. The nylon seat belt ratcheting type straps you see virtually everywhere these days.

D'OH ! Jim might need some sleep but I was probably half-awake when I answered his post. TP038 set is designed for the M2A2 Bradley, but as Tom said, this kind of straps can be seen on many types of vehicles...

I recently bought Aber's 35A20-German clamps and clasps. I personally don't like them. They are "workable" and are very tricky to assemble. As much as I like the pe stuff, I think this set is over engineered. If you like a challange, this may be a good set for you. Good luck.

BTW-the quality of the set is very good, just very hard to assemble.

All you really need are PE buckles of various sizes and some lead foil sheet. Cut the straps to the exact size you want and the lead is _much_ easier to work with than even annealed brass.

Couldnīt agree more. I find PE straps not that nice to work with, especially shorter ones. The foil method and PE buckles gives a perfect belt, every time. It conforms to the shape easily and with a pointed tool you can imitate the pinholes easily. I sheet of foil and an Aber buckles set, will make a lot of nice belts and straps, instead of buying several sets to suit.
