What kind of dio box? Are you talking a shadow box or more like a display case?
I have a display case I built and could try to get a photo of it on here, if I can figure it out.

Try to find a copy of Shepard Paine's How to Build Dioramas. It has step by step directions on how to build a boxed diorama.

While Paine's book has a nice chapter on Boxed Dio's, I recently found a VERY RARE book from "Finescale Models" published around 1983. This book is five chapters about ONLY creating boxed dios... features things like angles for internal scenery to force perpsective on the background, lighting, sky effects, shaded lighting, and figures. It is truly a wonderful book, and while I paid close to $30 bucks for it on Ebay, it was worth every dime.... some of the work discussed and displayed is AMAZING... the guy even shows how to build a realistic waterfall! Search ebay for this book and you may find it... in fact, I will EVENTUALLY sell mine as I tend to do once I have mastered the concepts.
